Description: A medium-sized tree noted for its unusually beautiful foliage and light reddish-brown bark. Produces small, inconspicuous flowers followed by small, sweet, purple fruits.

Height: Typically 20-30 feet.
 

Light: Full sun to light shade.

Drought Tolerance: Moderate.

Wildlife and Ecology: Contributes to the beauty of the forests where it grows, helps protect the soil, and furnishes food and cover for wildlife.
