Mangrove Installation dedication at Felix Varela High School

Xavier Cortada and the Reclamation Project team will present the Reclamation Project to Felix Varela Senior High School students for the first time. Nicholas Oehm, the public high school’s science teacher, also serves as Education and Outreach Coordinator for one of the Reclamation Project’s partners: FIU Florida Coastal Everglades’ (LTER) Long Term Ecological Research Project. Cortada and Oehm will lead the students in creating a mangrove propagule exhibit for their school.

Office of Engaged Creativity (OEC) Artist-in-Residence and Director Xavier Cortada and the Reclamation Project team will present the Reclamation Project to Felix Varela Senior High School students for the first time.  Nicholas Oehm, the public high school’s science teacher, also serves as Education and Outreach Coordinator for one of the Reclamation Project’s partners: FIU Florida Coastal Everglades’ (LTER) Long Term Ecological Research Project.  Cortada and Oehm will lead the students in creating a mangrove propagule exhibit for their school. The Reclamation Project welcomes the Felix Varela community to a coalition that engages students and teaches them about the importance of mangrove ecosystems
